Training Ground for Vermont 100

Went out to the Wachusett Reservoir this afternoon and found the perfect spot (i think?) to train for the VT100. It's basically hard and soft packed fire roads that intersect each other and circumnavigate the reservoir. I've been there before and only took to the roads I've explored previously, however, today I ran to get myself lost and found some awesome hills and great views of the water. Definitely a place I need and want to explore more often.

Run was 11 miles in an hour and 31min. Ran hard, felt great.

Took this survey today on toughness and ultra runners. Interested to see the results.

  2. Yup! Can't wait till July. It will be my focus race for this year and am looking to do well. I'll have to pick your brain on the course and logistics if you don't mind.

  3. Speaking of the reservoir, I don't know if you're looking for anything on the roads or not, but one of my annual road favorites is next weekend -- http://www.cmsrun.org/index.php/club-races/stus-30k -- Always a good run (for a road race, that is!)

  4. Doug, thanks for the heads up. I'm not a huge road guy, but I've heard good things about Stu's. I'll have to check with the boss to see if I can make it out to clinton next weekend!
